MANILA, Philippines—Robinsons Land Corp. is set to scale up its tourism-oriented business this semester with the opening in February of a new 108-room hotel in Puerto Princesa, the second in what is envisioned to be an extensive chain of budget hotels in the country.
Gohotels will also open in Dumaguete, Tacloban and Bacolod in the first half of this year, bringing the number of budget hotels in its portfolio to five and total hotel rooms to 639.
Citing the success of Gohotels’ first property, the 223-room hotel at the Cybergate Plaza in Mandaluyong City, RLC announced on Wednesday the completion of the branch in Palawan’s capital city, carrying over the same pricing concept and the same hotel and room features. Through a booking concept similar to that employed by affiliate budget carrier Cebu Pacific, travelers can get low rates just by booking ahead of time at the hotel’s website, www.gohotels.ph.
The hotel in Puerto Princesa is located on North Road, Barangay San Manuel.
“We are very excited with our newest venture, most specially that Puerto Princessa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines,” said Elizabeth Gregorio, Gohotels general manager.
Puerto Princesa, lauded for its beautiful beaches and friendly locals, recently placed its very own Puerto Princesa Underground River on the global tourism map with its inclusion among the new “New Seven Wonders of the Nature.” It has also won accolades for being among the cleanest and greenest cities in the Philippines.
“We are expecting both local and foreign tourists to avail themselves of our facilities which have made gohotels.ph a much sought after hotel accommodation in its category,” Gregorio added. “With the opening of three more hotels before the year ends, gohotels.ph will be able to service more travellers in several popular destinations.”
Gohotels Puerto Princesa is located close to Robinsons Palawan, providing guests access to dining, shopping or entertainment destinations. The mall is expected to open by summertime.
